Multifocal Lens Implant Options in West Palm Beach

Tecnis Multifocal Lens Implant

Technis Multifocal Lens in West Palm Beach, FLThe Tecnis multifocal lens implant is designed to give patients back their youthful vision by providing them with high-quality vision at any distance, and in any light condition—even in low light.

The Tecnis multifocal IOL is an implantable lens that restores vision after Cataract Surgery  and corrects nearsightedness, farsightedness and presbyopia (the need for reading glasses). It offers an excellent chance to become independent of your glasses.

Symfony Lens

The Symfony lens offers some advantages over traditional multifocal lenses. It treats nearsightedness, farsightedness and presbyopia. Its echelette reflection grating design produces a unique pattern of light diffraction, causing an increase in the focusing ability of the eye. The result is an extended depth of focus (range of vision). Another advantage is that it compensates for the image degradation caused by chromatic aberration (color distortion) between the shorter blue and longer red wavelengths. This results in a sharper and better quality image. These characteristics reduce the visual disturbances (glare and halos) compared with the design of traditional multifocal lenses to provide continuous high quality vision.

The Symfony lens is also available in a Toric Lens Implant version, called Symfony toric, to correct corneal astigmatism if present.

ReStor Multifocal IOL

ReStor Multifocal Lens in West Palm Beach, FLThe ReStor multifocal IOL has an apodized diffractive design. In low light conditions, as the pupil dilates, more light is distributed to the peripheral portion of the lens for clear distance vision such as while driving at night. In near task conditions, such as when reading with a light and at near, the pupil constricts and more light is distributed to different elements (rings) of the lens for near vision. This gives patients multiple focal points of vision by treating nearsightedness, farsightedness and presbyopia. It is also available in a Toric Lens Implant version to treat corneal astigmatism if present.
